Adam, Brian, Carmen and Jeff discuss the activities they enjoy when escaping the workplace for a few days.
- Brian enjoyed reading Michael Lewis’ book “The Big Short: Inside the Doomsday Machine” on a recent vacation.
- Adam’s vacation time is more likely spent making home repairs than traveling to the beach.

- Bletchley Park in Buckinghamshire, England.
- The International Spy Museum in Washington, DC.
- Sierra Nevada Brewery Tour, in either Chico, California, or Mills River, North Carolina.

Thanks to Chris Reed for use of the untitled beach photo. Opening music by John Trimble, and concluding theme by Paul Stevenson.
Add the National Atomic Testing Museum in Las Vegas to the vacation list!
When listening to this episode I couldn’t help but think about hobbies. Vacation is clearly intended as a time to get away and think about different things but hobbies are different. Especially engineer types and their hobbies. I think it would be interesting to talk about some of the hobbies that you all engage in and engineering sorts of hobbies in general, like home brewing, ham radio, model rocketry or whatever else.
Love the show, keep it up.
I always enjoy going to Henry Ford Museum/Greenfield village in Dearborn, Mi. https://www.thehenryford.org/visit/greenfield-village/. I believe that they have an Edison Electrical generator that was one of the first installed in New York City. I also remember seeing Edison’s lab (I believe that they had moved this into Greenfield Village in its entirety).
I would suggest visiting any of the top ten or twenty commercial ports. Unbelievable. Also, not in order: Greenwich Park (in England), the Falkirk Wheel, Gold Reef City, The Deutsches Museum, the Musee des Arts et Metiers, the CosmoCaixa Science Museum, the Museo Galileo, Birr Castle, the Hoover Dam, and for the brave, Chernobyl.
